Dr. Andrew Steer, president and CEO of the World Resources Institute, discusses the role of religious believers, particularly evangelical Christians, in addressing climate change and other environmental issues. He summarizes the teachings of the Bible regarding stewardship of creation, and addresses some reasons why the Christian church has not been as active in the environmental movement as it has been in other issues such as poverty reduction. Finally, he looks to the future and explains a few reasons why conservative Christians might become more concerned with the environment.
