In what ways is Christian nationalism rooted within American civil religion? In what ways is it distinct from many leading commitments of our founding? Why has Christian nationalism so strongly arisen within white evangelical theology and communities—as compared with other traditions? How will the contours Christian nationalism evolve and interact with the increasingly diverse, pluralistic direction of American democracy?
